For Metabolic Rift, Alenso creates an installation that functions as a suspended amulet, solidifying a portrait of contemporary society and conjuring a visual premonition of a future that is dependent on fossil fuels. Matter, myth and allegory are the conceptual building blocks for this new, hanging, rotating, revolving accumulation of hair, stones and diesel fuel nozzles.
