El resplandor los dejó ciegos, 2022
Tarmac stones, water bottles, fuel pumps, hoses, LED lights, sequins and

In her work, Ana Alenso explores the tangled web of conflicts and paradoxes, notions of progress and destruction rooted in the oil-based development and extractivist culture of the last century. In her installations, the geopolitical, socioeconomic and environmental tensions of our time are absorbed and transmuted into sculpture devices, in turn themselves transformed into autonomous poetical entities. El resplandor los dejó ciegos (The Shining Blinded Them) invites us to let ourselves be seduced by the brightness and power of the landscapes, materials and mechanisms produced by the petrochemical industry.
